August 6, 2026, State Primary and County General elections

Each write in vote had to be evaluated and counted by hand since there were spelling variations written in by voters.  The Election Commission took time to ensure that the voter's intent could be honored.  This is why it took some time between releasing how many voters had chosen to write-in a candidate and when numeric results for the certified write-in candidates were posted.  Additionally, some voters wrote in other names or phrases instead of the certified candidates.  That was why there were some write-in votes that could not be counted.
